Umm Nahad is divided into four communities:

Umm Nahad First (community code 911), also called Madinat Hind 1, in the northern area;
Umm Nahad Second (community code 912), also called Madinat Hind 2, in the western area;
Umm Nahad Third (community code 913), also called Madinat Hind 3, in the eastern area;
Umm Nahad Fourth (community code 914), also called Madinat Hind 4, in the southern area.
Much of the territory is desert and the settlements are concentrated in a few specific areas:

Dubai Outlet Mall. It is a shopping center located in the northern area of the community, along Dubai Al Ain Road. It has an art gallery, several dining options and branded shops. These include Burberry, Calvin Klein, Giuseppe Zanotti, Mont Blanc, Levi's Strauss and Lamborghini.[5]
Hamdan Sports Complex. It is a multi-purpose sports arena capable of hosting up to 15,000 spectators. It is located in the northwestern area of the community at Emirates Road.[6] It has been the site of important international sporting events including:
2010 World Short Course Swimming Championships;
2015 Men's Under-23 Volleyball World Championship;
World Karate Championships 2021;
the 2019 Special Olympics swimming events in Abu Dhabi.
Another interesting community landmark is the Camelicious farm where camels are raised for the production of milk and other dairy products.[7]

In addition to the aforementioned civilian settlements, the important Al Minhad military base managed by the United Arab Emirates Air Force is also located in the area. The base has been used by several Western nations as part of operations against the Islamic State, and in particular by the Australian Defense Force, the Canadian Armed Forces and the British armed forces.
