Not to be confused with the developer Al Wasl Properties, the area known as Al Wasl is in west Dubai near the famous Safa Park and the soon to be completed Dubai Canal.
Comprising of mostly standalone villas, some villas in compounds and low level apartment buildings, the area sits between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Wasl Road. Al Wasl as an area is lined with palm trees and has a very suburban feel despite being close to some of Dubai’s busiest roads.
Residents living in Al Wasl enjoy the excellent city views, in particular those of Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa. Safa Park was one of Dubai’s largest parks and was very popular with locals of Al Wasl and other residents but has since had to be revamped to make way for the Dubai Canal. The park is still iconic and used as a reference point by residents of Dubai.
At the northern end of Al Wasl is the very modern and fashionable City Walk development which consists of numerous dining and shopping outlets. Living on this side of Al Wasl gives residents easy access to Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa. The Al Amal Hospital is nearby as are a great number of schools and also the headquarters for Gulf News. The upmarket Galleria Mall is located on Al Wasl Road and is not far from the very distinctive Boxpark which has all sorts of restaurants, cafes and shops. Clearly, renting a house in Al Wasl comes with plenty of conveniences and comforts.

The villas for rent in Al Wasl are easily the most abundant property available. Starting off at the 3 bedroom mark they are large and spacious, going right up to 6 bedrooms in size. Rarely do these villas come furnished however it’s very common for homes to be given a fresh coat of paint before a new tenant moves in. Many villas come with maids rooms which can work as storage space if one doesn’t have a domestic aid. Amongst the many residential villas are also copious commercial villas where spas, salons and medical and health professionals operate from.
Generally speaking, Al Wasl properties for rent in Qusais is home to a lot of families with school and college aged children. Couples can also find their place here however the area is most conducive to family life. The local community is made up of a mixture of Emirati and expat families from all walks of life.
When renting a property in Al Wasl, like anywhere else in Dubai, remember to submit your tenancy paperwork for EJARI registration so you can get an official record of your tenancy. Maintain a good relationship with your landlord and check the rental increase calculator in the event that a rent increase has been proposed.
