The National Investment Corporation (NIC) is a thriving company that specializes in real estate development, mall development and management, and hospitality in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Established in 1999, NIC’s main goal was to develop the Breakwater area to utilize its prime location for economic and social benefits. The corporation devised a development plan based on market needs and their financial resources at that time.

The vision began with Marina Mall, which has since become Abu Dhabi's premier shopping destination. Created to meet the demand for a modern shopping center featuring spacious circulation areas, top-quality anchor tenants, and numerous brand-name stores, Marina Mall opened its doors in 2001 with positive reviews from tenants and shoppers alike.

Building on this success, the National Investment Corporation PJSC completed the Marina Royal Complex in 2006, a luxury residential compound comprising 100 villas with unparalleled sea views. That same year also saw the first extension of Marina Mall open to visitors, enhancing its retail mix and boosting footfall significantly, reaching nearly 16 million visitors by 2010.

In addition to these projects, NIC manages leases for Marina Village Office Park, a compound developed in 2008 consisting of 107 villas designed for both residential and commercial use. By 2018, they added another landmark project: Marina Sunset Development, featuring 67 villas and 210 apartments offering modern luxury living options in the capital.

The chairman and majority chairholder of the National Investment Corporation is H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also an Advisor to His Highness The President of the UAE.
