Wasit Wetland Centre is an initiative by Sharjah’s Environment and Protected Areas Agency. The architects took advantage of the site’s natural topography to make it look submerged in the ground. 

Visitors are required to descend a ramp at an angled intersection upon which three linear elements appear: 

  • First element: Administrative offices and services 
  • Second element: Viewing Gallery 
  • Third element: Cafe and Multipurpose space

The viewing area also features informative displays at various points across the gallery. Read the displays and educate yourself on the extinct and endangered birds as well as natural wildlife. 

Find the Endangered Arabian Oryx 

Wasit Wetland features colossal coastal dunes located beside the centre’s lush landscape. While exploring around, witness the endangered Arabian Onyx on the hunt for food. Take a photo of the Onyx to show your family and friends when you go back.

Are you facing difficulty travelling around the conservation centre? Fret not, as the Environment and Protected Areas Authority of Sharjah conducts golf tours around the preservation area.
