Types of RAK Taxis

The diverse topography of Ras Al Khaimah makes it one of the popular tourist destinations in the UAE. This accounts for a high demand for taxi services in RAK. To cater it, Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) offers two types of taxi services: regular taxis and female taxis.

These taxis are available throughout the day and all year round, regardless of public holidays. Let’s explore the types of RAK taxi services and the fares they charge.

Regular Taxis

The taxi fleet comprises eco-friendly cars with high-tech features, smart metering systems and security cameras. Such features ensure a secure and comfortable riding experience.

Female Taxis

Compared to regular taxis, the RAK female taxis are recognisable through a pink hood. These taxis are only available for women and children under 15 years of age. Moreover, these female taxis are also equipped with advanced features and AI-operated security cameras, like the regular ones.
