Palm Jumeirah guests must pay

Arabianbusiness recently reported that Palm Jumeriah tenants living in the Tiara Residence have been told their families and guests must pay AED 200 to use the pool, gym and beach at the weekends.

The charges have been levied by the developer, Zabeel Properties, apparently as a way of curbing overcrowding at the community facilities.   Parking charges have also been applied  – any visitor who leaves their car for longer than four hours is subject to an hourly AED20 fee.

Unsurprisingly,  residents say the new rules are “ridiculous”, and leave their families liable to significant payouts when they come to visit.

Are you charged high fees for facilities and services you believed were ‘free’ or do you live in a relatively low-cost residence?  Leave your comments below…
