History of Fujairah Museum

The Fujairah Museum, established in 1969, initially featured coins, farming tools, pottery and weapons. Later, in 1991, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi inaugurated the Department of Antiquities and Heritage to maintain the museum. 

The museum officially opened in November 1991. Then, in 1998, the museum experienced an expansion, including two large halls of antiques and three for heritage. The museum’s final appearance attracted more visitors while preserving the UAE’s cultural history.
