  • Fast Charger (50 kW DC): DC chargers provide significantly faster charging, perfect for those in need of a quick power-up.
  • Ultra-Fast Charger (150 kW DC): The fastest option available, ultra-fast chargers minimise charging time. They offer maximum efficiency for EV owners.

DEWA Green Chargers – EV Green Charger Initiative

One of the most prominent initiatives for Dubai to boost the adoption of electric vehicles is the DEWA EV Green Charger Initiative. It aims to establish widespread infrastructure of electric vehicles across the city.

How to Register

  • Online registration on the official DEWA website.
  • Download the DEWA Smart App and register.
  • Complete and provide all requested information, including personal details and vehicle details. Also, accept the terms and conditions to complete registration.

Documents Required for Registration

You will need to present the following documents for EV account registration with DEWA:

  • Emirates ID
  • Vehicle registration details
  • Proof of address (if applicable)

Charges

The charges for registering an EV DEWA Account are as follows:

Security Deposit

  • AED 500 for both the individual and business.
  • Government agencies are excluded from the security deposit, but shall still pay for the delivery charges and consumption charges.

Consumption Charges

  • AC Charging: AED 0.7 per kWh + VAT
  • DC Charging: AED 1.2 per kWh + VAT

For guest users, who are not account holders, the prices will depend on the charge duration and type of charger:

  • Wallbox/Public (22 kW): AED 8.09 for 30 minutes
  • Fast Charger 50 kW AC: AED 15.80 for 30 minutes
  • Fast Charger 50 kW DC: AED 31.50 for 30 minutes
  • Ultra-Fast Charger 150 kW DC: AED 94.50 for 30 minutes

Delivery Charges

  • Individual and Business: AED 20
