History of Al Wasl Sports Club
Al Wasl was established in 1960 by a group of young men at the late father Bakhit Salem AlFalasi’s house in Za’abeel. After significantly increasing members, they rented a small house, paying 10 dirhams per member to support the club’s budget.
In 1962, the club relocated to Sheikha Medea Bint Sultan’s residence. The residence was under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid AL Maktoum and Sheikh Butti Bin Maktoum AL Maktoum. The Makhtoom brothers later accepted the proposal and played in matches.
